Wisport – Ranger

Wisport Ranger can be purchased at www.wisport.dk

A modern survival / military backpack with a capacity of 30L.

The high comfort is partly due Wisport’s SAS PLUS ERGONOMICALLY MILITARY carrying system. Its weight and quality is at a reasonable level because of it is made of Cordura 500D, and the buckles are ITW NEXUS / DURAFLEX type.

SEMI ADJUSTABLE SYSTEM (SAS)
The semi-adjustable suspension system is equipped with fixed straps at the shoulder and adjustable under the arms. This feature ensures lower weight and improved stability, which are not affected by unevenness or moving loads.

SAS is used in backpacks designed for activities that require a wide range of movement of the user, such as climbing and skiing.

The asymmetrical hip belt is removable and reversible, allowing for better functionality.

All elements of the system which come in contact with the body are covered with AIR NET, which improves the air flow.

Depending on the size and design, SAS carrying system can be further reinforced with aluminum or fiberglass stays to provide increased rigidity.

Data:

Capacity: 30l.
Carrying system: SAS Ergonomic Military
Material: CORDURA 500 D
Zipper: YKK
Buckles: ITW NEXUS / DURAFLEX
Weight: 1150 grams
Inner compartment: 1
Number of pockets: 4
Dimensions: 47 x 30 x 23 cm

Cons:
The rain cover is not secured, and therefore it can blow away if you do not attach it during heavy winds.

The zipper to the main room is, in my opinion, not suitable for the purpose. There is a risk that it will not hold up to the pressure, if the backpack is packed to the gills.

There is no rain / storm flap on the zipper to the small front compartment, this means that there is a possibility that rainwater can penetrate here.

There’s a pocket, but not exit port or holder for a drinking system, although the backpack is a “Military” model. In Wisport’s catalog the SAS carrier system is described as having a Camelbak holder and quick release system.

Pros:
The support system is really comfortable to wear on your back / shoulders even with a heavy load.

Lots of straps and buckles so you can adjust, optimize and configure your backpack as you want.

You can attach other models of smaller backpacks from Wisport or you can attach the Ranger on larger Wisport models.

Good quality of clicks buckles, fabric, webbing and stitching.

Good spacious open side pockets with elastic closing.

Mega long kompression straps (and webbing in general). So there is plenty of opportunity to mount additional gear on the outside of the backpack

Good padded shoulder straps.

Thin and light hip belt which is dimensioned to the size of the backpack.

A very good backpack I can easily recommend, however, you should be aware of the lack of access to a drinking system.
